Episode 26 - Harry Pogwarts and the Faulty Film Franchise Part 1

I grew up with the Harry Potter films as my way into the magical world of witchcraft and wizardry, but for Hillary she was neck deep into the books and the movies just couldn't hack it. Now that we finished the audiobooks we set out to watch the Harry Potter films and see how they stack up. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll keep crying, you'll cry some more, and then finally when it's all said and done, when the credits roll and the lights come back on, you'll dig deep down into your soul and say, "Eh." We also discuss some DC news/trailers from this years San Diego Comic Con and we also saw Ocean's Eight in theatres. Tune in NOW! Or whenever. Or don't at all. I don't care. I'm not your mum.

Episode 25 - Jurassic What Have We Done?!

It's a whirlwind of emotions as we go to the movies. This week we were lucky enough to see Jurassic World 2: Fallen Kingdom and Incredibles 2!

So hunker down for a jam-packed, spoiler-filled, exhaustingly detailed account of our venture back to the island where it all began and find out where it all ends.

Plus, Incredibles two is definitely not solely for kids. In fact it is mostly for the adults that have been waiting 14 years to see the Incredible Family return!

Episode 24 - The Adventures of Rick and Montessori

This is an exciting day for all of you folks! We are back after a short break. We ventured to Cape Cod for a mini-vacation and also worked ourselves to death. Which brings us to today's episode ON LOCATION in my parent's basement as we do our laundry because we are poor and it saves us money.

That all aside, Hillary got a brand new job teaching a Montessori school and I just binge watch television (much like I do every week, but this is a tad different). We get into Dimension 404, Key and Peele, Rick and Morty, and Community.

If you haven't seen any of these but are Sci-Fi fans, Rick and Morty or Dimension 404 are definitely worth watching.

Then Hillary and I continue our journey with Buffy the Vampire Slayer and start a new audiobook - Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett.

Episode 23 - I FINALLY Know What Happens to Harry Pogwarts!

If you are unfamiliar I, Matthew Danko, had never read the Harry Potter series in it's entirety. But, after 117 hours and 14 min we finally finished Harry Potter and the Audiobook Adventure - as read by Jim Dale. 

Whether or not you agree that counts as reading them, to me it does. I struggle with reading and have a hard time focusing on the words written on the page, and the books themselves can be massive and daunting. But nothing, I repeat NOTHING, brings the story to life more than the vocal styles of Jim Dale (narrator of multiple works such as Pushing Daisies) and nothing could make me fall in love with the wizarding world of Harry Potter than diving into it with my lovely Ravenclaw and partner - Hillary Crum. 

This week we finish the final installment of the wonderful series with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and man do we get into it. Balls deep into it.

Episode 22 - Where in the World is Black Batman-Diego!?

Fall down a rabbit hole so Social Justice-y we didn't even mean to get there! This week Hillary read an underwhelming novel Just Another Kid by Torey Hayden and I watch Arrested Development Season 5 and an old favorite Peep Show from the minds of Robert Webb and David Mitchell. Definitely worth watching AD even if you hated the original season 4 on Netflix. I mean, there's only 8 episodes! and Peep Show is just an interesting concept.

Plus we talk Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 3 and talk about a world where superheroes aren't all carbon copies of the same straight white male. We ponder the idea of how superheroes can be any race, creed, gender, what-have-you and still be original. In fact - we would be better off for it!

Episode 21 - T.H.U.G.s, Screams, and Deadpool 2: Part 2 Electric Boogaloo

We are back in action, but not like the Looney Tunes live action movie.
After being gone for a week due to being under the weather we have a special 2 part episode in store for you!

Hillary listened to the audiobook - The Hate U Give by: Angie Thomas and damn does shit get heavy. I also took a trip down memory lane by rewatching Season 1 of Scream and all 4 Scream movies. They will always hold a special place in my heart. I also watched Creep 1 and 2 on Netflix and rounded out the week with seeing SOLO - A Star Wars Story in theaters.

I drive this empty street
On the boulevard of broken Jeeps... Well, it's a Honda, but the point still stands. Hillary breaks down on the highway for Mother's Day and I jump into action. 


Then we get a history lesson with Radium Girls - Hillary's book of the week and I give a rundown of Arrested Development Season 4 - Fateful Consequences. And together we finish series 2 of Doctor Who.

In the Burgh, ya heard?!

Our new designated podcasting room is slowly coming to fruition now that we are in our new place. I talk us through some Swiss Army Man and Casper, yeah that CGI ghost movie starring America's greatest president and Lex Luthor's werewolf sister.  We also discover young love in Stephanie Perkins' novels that Hillary is enjoying this week.

We also started our jobs at Go Ape! A Treetop Adventure Course that literally takes you high up in the trees for some zip lining great fun!

Episode 13 - From Tits to Teeth

Hell yeah folks, we are in our brand new space...sorta.

We officially moved to Pittsburgh with minimal stupidity. In the process of setting up our podcast studio! This week I rewatch a favorite, Tusk by Kevin Smith. Hillary rereads The Host by Stephanie Meyer. And we round out our move-in by watching Queer Eye, Doctor Who Series 2, and The Netflix Original Series - The Santa Clarita Diet.

Which by the way, The Santa Clarita Diet is phenomenal. We definitely don't do it justice, or go Tits to Teeth, but luckily this won't be the only episode where we will cover it. It's a lot to process. Timothy Olyphant is Olyphant-astic.
